Jessica Law, Head Knot Head Hairstylist, reveals the how-to’s to create those fun do’s that can transform hair from laborious to fabulous. She gives the jist of the twist on how to turn your tress into a success!
Hi,
I LOVE Knot Heads. Getting these in my hands have allowed me to do things I've never thought were possible before with hair. I know you will have loads of success with them too if you keep them in your hands and in the hair.
If someone were to hand you a bobby pin or elastic band for the first time and asked you to use it securely in the hair, you may have to fiddle a bit to figure it out. Give your Knot Heads a couple tries to figure them out and soon you’ll be an old hand at em’. Keep after it and I promise success! I have left you a few tips and tricks I used to get started. You now have the tool to create do's that a bobby pins, elastic bands, and barrettes never allowed before.
Best of luck and more importantly, have fun and go knots!

HOW TO DO the do's:
| BASICS OF THE SHORT STYLE KNOTHEAD: |
- Bend the Knot Head into a gentle "V" shape.
- Scoop up the hair to be fastened.
- Wrap and cinch tightly.
|
VERY IMPORTANT...
Make sure the Knot Head touches in the middle, so the hair won't twirl out.

Wrap twice |
Or twist! |

|
| EASY BUN: |
Hook the very end of the Knot Head around the ponytail, then wrap the rest of the Knot Head down the length of the hair, leaving about 4 inches of the Knot Head unwrapped.
Now, carefully wrap the ponytail into an attractive bun. Tuck the end of the ponytail in, to hide it (or don't tuck the ends and flare them out for a messy look). Wrap the Knot head around the hair, NOT the hair around the Knot Head.
Once the bun is formed, "stitch" through the hair next to the scalp and gently bend the Knot Head back on itself, hooking the bun in place. This hides the end of the Knot Head under the bun.

| CLAW: |
Make a pony tail using 1/3 of the Knot Head's length
Spiral or criss-cross the remainder of the Knot Heads down the ponytail leaving about 5 inches unwrapped.
Fold ponytail up against your head and stitch remaining length through hair near head. Tighten "stitch" through again until no length remains. |

| THE KNOTTY BUN: |
Start with a basic pony tail.
Then take section of the pony tail and twist the hair as if you were starting to create a rope braid. Let the hair twist against itself and knot up to towards the scalp.
Bend the Knot Head into a "V" shape and feed it through the hair securely attaching the twisted knot into place.
Continue to take pieces of hair and repeat the process until you have created the "knotty bun". (If something ends up off-balance or funky, simply slip another Knot Head into the mix and fasten that problem into compliance.) |
 |
| |
| MODERN BRAID: |
| Wrap the Knot Head around a portion of the hair. Gather more hair and wrap again. Repeat until complete. |
 |
| |
| RIBBONED UP DO: |
Create your own up-do. Then add short or long Knot Heads to twist and wrap around loose pieces remaining and then attach them up into your fab do. (I used the short style for this look.) This use of the Knot Head will give the illusion of ribbon being woven through the hair, but accomplished with much more ease. The idea of using the Knot Head solely as an accessory, is very popular and will hold in the hair unlike other heavy and cheap hair accessories.
Use Knot Heads that are accent colors and of course your imagination for a beautiful do. |
